Known for his best-selling 1994 book The Orion Mystery, Robert Bauval, with his co-author astrophysicist Thomas Brophy, argues that a high civilisation existed in the Sahara long before Pharaonic Egypt. The authors use a combination of anthropology, climatology, archaeology, geology, and genetics to make the case that a sophisticated black African culture influenced the ancient Egyptians.
